The idea for IDC Cayman was born not in a boardroom, but in a conversation. A conversation that Kevin Rawal had heard one too many times: a couple, newly engaged, sharing how overwhelmed they had felt buying a diamond — uncertain of its origin, unsure of its quality, and disconnected from the experience entirely. The transaction had been clinical. The moment, anything but.

Kevin had spent years immersed in the world of fine jewelry — studying gemstones, attending international auctions, building relationships with the world’s most respected diamond cutters and ethical mines. He had developed a deep reverence for the artistry of jewelry-making and an equally deep frustration with how impersonal the industry had become.

What was missing was something simple but profound: trust, transparency, and a personal connection.

The Cayman Islands presented an extraordinary opportunity. Here was a destination already synonymous with world-class experiences — crystal-clear waters, refined hospitality, and a global community of discerning travelers. Yet something essential was absent: a jewelry house where international visitors and local residents alike could acquire museum-quality diamonds and bespoke fine jewelry with complete confidence, expert guidance, and genuine warmth.

In 2015, Kevin founded IDC Cayman — International Diamond Center — to fill that void. He envisioned a showroom that felt more like a private atelier than a retail store. A place where certified GIA diamonds were presented with the reverence they deserved.

From the beginning, the mission extended far beyond selling beautiful jewelry.

Kevin believed that IDC Cayman should reflect the same integrity and responsibility that the finest gemstones represent. That meant rigorous ethical sourcing.
