Topaz

Blue Topaz Jewelry in Grand Cayman

Bright, clean Caribbean blue in 14-carat and 18-carat gold, the most affordable way to wear real colour.

Clean Caribbean Blue

The Blue That Suits This Island

For cool, clean blues, aquamarine and blue topaz are hard to beat. A bright blue topaz gives that Caribbean water colour at a fraction of the cost of sapphire or aquamarine, which is why it is one of the most popular stones we sell to visitors.

Topaz is available in sizes that would be unthinkable in a rarer stone, so it is the obvious choice when someone wants a large, bold centre stone without a five-figure price. Cocktail rings and statement pendants are where it does its best work.

It is harder than tanzanite but not as tough as sapphire, so we set topaz rings with a little protection at the edges and keep the most delicate cuts for pendants and earrings.

Questions

Good to Know

Is blue topaz a good value gemstone?
It is one of the best. Blue topaz gives a clean, bright blue in large sizes for a small fraction of what sapphire or aquamarine cost, which makes it the practical choice for a bold cocktail ring or a statement pendant.
What is the difference between blue topaz and aquamarine?
Aquamarine is the rarer and more expensive of the two, with a softer, paler sea-blue and slightly better durability for everyday rings. Blue topaz is brighter and more saturated, available much larger, and considerably cheaper.
Is topaz hard enough for a ring?
Yes for normal wear, with sensible setting. Topaz is harder than tanzanite but not as tough as sapphire, so we protect the edges on ring settings and reserve the most delicate cuts for pendants and earrings.
