Caymanite Jewelry in Grand Cayman

The banded stone found nowhere else on earth, cut and set by hand in our George Town workshop.

Cayman's Own Stone

A Stone You Can Only Buy Here

Caymanite is a rare banded stone found only in the Cayman Islands, layered in cream, gold, brown and rust. It comes out of our island cliffs, and because it is unique to these islands a piece of caymanite jewelry is a true keepsake you can buy nowhere else.

No two pieces are alike. The banding runs differently through every slab, so when a stone is cut the pattern that appears has never existed before and will not appear again. That is the appeal: a caymanite pendant is not a style you chose, it is a specific stone that only you own.

We set caymanite in rings, pendants and other fine pieces in 14-carat and 18-carat gold. Because the stone is softer than sapphire, it looks its best in pendants, earrings and occasion rings rather than a ring worn every day, and our jewelers will steer you to the setting that protects the piece you choose.

How We Set It

Caymanite Pieces

Cut and finished in George Town, then set in gold by the same jewelers who made it.

Caymanite Pendants

The most popular way to wear the stone. A pendant shows the full run of the banding and keeps the stone away from knocks.

Caymanite Rings

Set in a protective bezel or a raised gold surround, a caymanite ring is a statement piece for occasion wear.

Caymanite Earrings

Matched pairs cut from the same slab so the banding reads as a set, in 14k or 18k gold.

Cufflinks and Gifts

Caymanite cufflinks and keepsakes, the souvenir of the islands that is actually from the islands.

Questions

Good to Know

What is caymanite?
Caymanite is a rare banded stone found only in the Cayman Islands, layered in cream, gold, brown and rust. Because it is unique to these islands, a piece of caymanite jewelry is a true keepsake you can buy nowhere else. We set caymanite in rings, pendants and other fine pieces in 14-carat and 18-carat gold.
Where can I buy caymanite jewelry in Grand Cayman?
At our showroom on the George Town waterfront, a short walk from the cruise pier. We cut and set caymanite in house, so you can see the stone before it is set and choose the piece of banding you want. Everything is priced tax-free.
Is caymanite jewelry expensive?
Caymanite is a semi-precious stone, so it sits well below diamond or sapphire in price while still being genuinely rare. Most of the cost of a finished piece is the gold and the hand work rather than the stone, which makes caymanite one of the most affordable ways to take home something found only in Cayman.
How should I care for caymanite?
Caymanite is softer than sapphire, so treat it as you would a pearl or an opal. Keep it away from knocks and abrasives, take rings off before anything rough, and clean with a soft cloth and warm water rather than an ultrasonic cleaner. Bring it back to us any time and we will re-polish it.
Can you make a custom caymanite piece?
Yes. Custom and bespoke work is what our workshop does. Choose the slab, tell us whether you want a pendant, ring or pair of earrings, and we will design the gold around that specific stone. Most bespoke pieces are finished while visitors are still on island.
